Durham Bowls supporters
Generous support for Durham Bowls 2018 was provided by:
North Carolina PTA
North Carolina PTA is the state’s oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for advocating for the education, health, safety and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities. NCPTA impacts more than 685,000 children and their families through our 130,000 members in 960 schools across the state. PTAs have a long history of building community around school meals: PTAs started the first hot lunch programs in the country more than 100 years ago, advocated for the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program, and fought for more stringent child nutrition standards. NCPTA is proud to be continuing that legacy by reimagining school meals with partners like FIG and is excited for Durham PTA members, families, and students to taste the innovative new school meals developed by Durham Bowls.
Farmer Foodshare's mission is ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to enjoy fresh, nutritious, locally grown food. By partnering with North Carolina farmers, Farmer Foodshare is able to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to Durham Public Schools all year long.
Durham Bowls teams are tasked with using at least one local product that Farmer Foodshare makes available to DPS. That way, School Nutrition Managers will discover new ways to prepare local ingredients!
